A new UN Global Compact initiative is putting sustainability on board rooms’ agendas. The Global Compact Board Program is a new platform that provides in house training to company boards about the importance of sustainability issues to long term business success. It helps to identify ways boards can build sustainability into business strategy and risk management practise which will help achieve profitability and viability in the long term.

The Program responds to an earlier survey which identified 93 per cent of chief executives wanted board members to more actively address environmental, social and governance issues.
