Three GCNA members – Westpac, Woolworths and The GPT Group – have been named as industry group leaders in the 2014 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices review, released on 11 September.

Westpac was noted for its commitment to gender, diversity and indigenous engagement throughout its operations. Its commitment to renewable and hydro energy and investing in clean technology was also commended.

The review highlighted Woolworths’ strong leadership in health and nutrition, implementation of environmental safeguards in its supply chain and development of sustainable packaging.

The GPT Group’s outstanding commitment to environmental sustainability through energy and water efficiency in its properties was noted. The review also highlighted The GPT Group’s positive investment in community engagement through social inclusion, healthy living and employability policies.
