Submission to the Inquiry on the Climate Change Bills

Kylie Porter | December 9, 2020

The Global Compact Network Australia was invited to provide a submission to the House Standing Committee on the Environment and Energy to the inquiry on the Climate Change (National Framework for Adaptation and Mitigation) Bill 2020 and Climate Change (National Framework for Adaptation and Mitigation) (Consequential and Transitional Provisions) Bill 2020.

The GCNA’s submission provides perspective to the challenges and opportunities of climate change in an Australian context, including providing support for the Climate Change Bills. The Climate Change Bills represent an opportunity to begin a national planning process and implement adaptation measures to avoid some of the worst impacts of climate change and meet Australia’s international obligations under the Paris Agreement. Further information regarding the Inquiry can be found here.
