Riana Cermak
Riana is an Associate Director at Pillar Two. She works with some of the world’s largest listed companies and governments to enhance respect for human rights and embed climate and sustainability initiatives in business operations and value chains.
Riana worked as a corporate lawyer at King & Wood Mallesons, where she advised ASX200 companies on commercial dispute resolution, before moving to London to work as a Manager with the Global Business Initiative on Human Rights, where she led the member peer learning program, and legal and policy initiatives. Most recently, Riana worked at Boston Consulting Group in the Climate and Sustainability and Private Equity practice areas. She advised corporations and governments on sustainability strategy, business transformation, market entry and growth strategy, supply chain management, sustainable investment strategies, and due diligence (including ESG assessments).
Riana holds a Bachelor of Civil Law (LLM) from the University of Oxford, and a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and Bachelor of International Relations from Flinders University. She has published academic research on corporate responsibility and directors’ duties to respect human rights in offshore subsidiaries and supply chains. She has also published a paper for the Australian Institute of Company Directors on directors’ duties in relation to human rights. Riana speaks English and Spanish.
