Mike Henry

Mike Henry is the CEO and Executive Director of BHP, one of the world’s largest resources companies. His discipline and focus will deliver a culture of high performance and returns for BHP.

Mike has 30 years’ experience in the global mining and petroleum industries, spanning operational, commercial, safety, technology and marketing roles. His operational and commercial experience in resources has been developed across a global career spanning the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Prior to becoming CEO in January 2020, Mike was responsible for leading BHP’s Australian Minerals business of nearly 40,000 people across six assets, with revenues of US$29 billion, EBITDA of US$16 billion and capital spend of US$3 billion.

Mike is a strong advocate for the resources industry, driving higher standards of safety and a commitment to our local communities and global stakeholders.

He joined BHP in 2003 and has been a member of the Executive Leadership Team since 2011. Mike worked for Mitsubishi in Canada, Japan and Australia prior to joining BHP.
