John Finisdore

Principal Consultant, Biodiversity Water and Nature, ERM

John improves organisational performance through strategic action on finance, natural capital (biodiversity & ecosystem services), water, agriculture and adaptation to climate change. He is an expert in natural capital accounting including its application to biodiversity assessments, valuation, journal based bookkeeping, risk assessment, nature based solutions, markets, supply chain management and bonds.

He leads facilitations for corporations, NGOs, governments and communities and has conducted nearly 100 natural capital risk analyses for corporations, governments and civil society organisations.

John led the World Resources Institute’s Business & Ecosystem Services Project where he co-authored the Corporate Ecosystem Services Review and contributed to The Guide to Corporate Ecosystem Valuation and TEEB for Business and Enterprise. Other recent guidance documents work includes the Biological Diversity Protocol and Time to Take Stock.

He participates in the IFRS/ISSB Working Group, SBTN Corporate Engagement Program, TNFD Forum, NSW DPE Sustainability Partnership Panel, Capitals Coalition, Responsible Investment Association of Australia and Business Council for Sustainable Development Australia.
