Founded in 2005, SecondBite is one of Australia’s largest food rescue charities. SecondBiterescues nutritious surplus food from farmers, retailers and manufacturers and distributes this rescued food free of charge to over 450 charity partners and not-for-profit organisations across the country. This helps these organisations invest their resources into other vital services such as housing, healthcare and financial support. In 2024, SecondBite merged with FareShare, another leading Australian food relief charity, creating a stronger, more efficient solution to address food insecurity across Australia. Together, SecondBite | FareShare exists to partner with communities and provide healthy food and nutritious cooked meals- caring for people and planet.
