The Rotary Club of Sydney, established in 1921, is one of Australia’s oldest and most influential service organisations. As part of the global network of Rotary International, the Club brings together leaders from business, government, and the community to advance social impact, ethical leadership, and sustainable development.
With a long-standing commitment to service above self, Rotary Sydney delivers and supports initiatives across key focus areas including education, health, youth development, community resilience, and international development. The Club plays an active role in addressing complex social challenges both locally and globally, often in partnership with governments, NGOs, and multilateral organisations.
Rotary Sydney has a strong track record in delivering high-impact programs aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These include youth scholarship programs that expand access to education and opportunity, community partnerships that support vulnerable populations, and international projects that improve health outcomes and economic inclusion across the Indo-Pacific region.
The Club is also a contributor to Rotary’s flagship global initiatives, including disease prevention and health promotion programs, most notably the eradication of polio through the End Polio Now campaign. Through these efforts, Rotary Sydney supports global public health outcomes and demonstrates the power of coordinated international action.
Collaboration is central to Rotary Sydney’s approach. The Club actively works with corporate partners, philanthropic organisations, and community groups to mobilise resources, expertise, and networks in support of scalable and sustainable solutions. Its involvement in blended finance initiatives and financial inclusion programs further reflects a commitment to innovative approaches that deliver measurable impact.
Governed by a volunteer Board and supported by engaged members, Rotary Sydney maintains strong standards of accountability, transparency, and ethical conduct. The Club’s activities are underpinned by Rotary’s Four-Way Test, promoting integrity, fairness, and respect in all endeavours.
As a participant in the United Nations Global Compact, Rotary Sydney is committed to advancing the Compact’s principles across human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption. The Club continues to align its programs and partnerships with these principles, contributing to a more inclusive, sustainable, and equitable future.
