Event Details

The Global Compact Network Australia invites you to a webinar briefing on the outcomes of Paris Climate Conference (COP 21).

Government, business, civil society and other stakeholders from around the world have gathered in Paris for COP21, concluding this week. The conference aims to achieve a legally binding and universal agreement on climate change, with the ambitious goal of keeping global warming below 2°C- the threshold beyond which science tells us climate change risks become unacceptably high.

The outcomes of COP21 will shift the global and national policy landscape around climate change. If the desired outcomes are achieved, business will have greater incentive to innovate for a low carbon future, and greater certainty for making long term decisions in relation to strategies and investments in this space.

This webinar will explore the highlights and outcomes of COP21, and what they mean for Australian businesses.

Speakers include:

  • Emma Herd, CEO, Investor Group on Climate Change
  • Rosemary Bissett, Head of Sustainability Governance & Risk, NAB
  • John Tomac, Partner, PwC
