Leaders and decision-makers from government, business, civil society and academia gathered at the inaugural Australian SDGs Summit.
The new UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – a landmark agreement by all countries – offer a blueprint for a better future for all. The agenda offers significant opportunities to Australia as a nation, and all sectors have a role to play in achieving the SDGs. Further, cross-sector collaboration will be required on an unprecedented scale.
The Summit explored key questions including:
- What do the SDGs mean for Australia at home and abroad and what opportunities does the agenda offer?
- How are different sectors already taking steps to implement the SDGs?
- What actions are required collaboratively and by each sector to achieve the SDG
The GCNA co-organised the Australian SDGs Summit with the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Australia/Pacific and SDSN Youth, Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS) and Australian Council for International Development (ACFID).
