Event Details

The GCNA, in partnership with CDP and WWF Australia, convened an invitation-only forum to launch the Road to Paris and Science Based Targets initiative and highlight opportunities for corporate engagement with leading global climate change initiatives.

At COP21 in Paris, December 2015, world leaders came together on an unprecedented scale to make an agreement on climate action that aims to limit global temperatures to 1.5 degrees celsius.

Efforts by all sectors of society, including business, will be necessary to achieve this agreement.

This forum, in the ‘Road to Paris’ context, launched the Science Based Targets – an initiative of CDP, UN Global Compact, WWF and the World Resources Institute – which aims to encourage business to take swift climate action by setting ambitious greenhouse gas emission reduction targets.

The forum will also highlight the critical importance and business benefits of corporate leadership and action on climate.
