Rachet Holt
Rachel Holt is the Senior Executive of the Investigation and Conciliation Service (ICS) at the Australian Human Rights Commission (Commission). Rachel has an academic background in law and English literature and has over 12 years experience managing the investigation and conciliation of discrimination complaints. For the past six years Rachel has been responsible for leading a team of approximately 40 staff overseeing one of the Commission’s core statutory functions: inquiring into and attempting to conciliate unlawful discrimination and human rights complaints. Prior to her current role, Rachel was a team leader and senior investigator conciliator with the ICS and before commencing work at the Commission, worked as an employment lawyer at the Australian Centre for Disability Law. Rachel is an accredited mediator and is a passionate advocate for the role that alternative dispute resolution plays within the justice system, has extensive experience developing and managing complaint handling systems and as a statutory decision maker, is a subject matter expert on the federal discrimination laws administered by the Commission.
