Nicole Mitchell is branch head National Adaptation Policy Office in the Climate Change Policy, Adaptation and Risk Division in the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW). She has overseen the public release of the Australian Government’s National Adaptation Plan and is responsible for implementation of the Torres Strait and Northern Peninsular Area Climate Resilience Centre. Nicole has 20 years’ experience in the Australian Public Service, with most of her career spent in Treasury, working on a range of policy areas, including superannuation, tax and budget. Nicole has a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Economics and PHD (political science) from the Australian National University.
