Martin Commons

Martin has over 20 years of experience as a lawyer and public policy professional, working in-house and in private practice in Europe, Asia, the US and Australia.

Martin joined NAB earlier this year, where he leads the Governance, Legal and Regulatory team’s engagement with environmental, social and governance issues.

Prior to joining NAB, Martin worked in the resources sector. This included a decade with one of the world’s largest mining companies, where he worked on a number of initiatives that aimed to embed environmental and social impact considerations into the company’s core processes, from risk management to budgeting. This included work to enrol front line workers in efforts to reduce emissions and improve social performance.
