Kate Gill-Herdman

Kate is an experienced litigator and investigations and inquiries practitioner specialising in contentious and non-contentious ESG matters. Regarded for her deep understanding of established and emerging ESG legal risks, she regularly advises multinational corporations and financial institutions on ESG risk, compliance, and governance issues. Her expertise includes modern slavery reporting and compliance reviews, Australia’s climate-related financial disclosure (CRFD) regime, mitigating greenwashing (misleading or deceptive conduct) risks, greenwashing investigations, and business responsibilities under the UNGPs, including supply chain and human rights-related investigations.

Kate co-authored the Australian chapter of The Global ESG Handbook: A Guide for Practitioners and is ranked as a Green Ambassador for Australia in Legal 500’s 2026 Asia Pacific Guide.
