Professor Justine Nolan

Director, Australian Human Rights Institute, University of New South Wales
Justine Nolan is the Director of the Australian Human Rights Institute and a Professor in the Faculty of Law & Justice at UNSW Sydney. Her book (co-authored with Dorothee Baumann-Pauly and Andy Symington)- Transforming Business: Aligning Profits with Human Rights (Nov. 2026) showcases real life case studies that make the case for how business can and should do better on human rights.
She is a member of the Australian Government’s Modern Slavery Expert Advisory Group.
Prior to joining UNSW, Justine practiced as a corporate lawyer and an international human rights lawyer in Australia and the USA.  She is the Executive Editor of the Australian Journal of Human Rights.
