Jon Greenaway

Jon Greenaway is Control Risks’ Market Director for Western Australia. He has extensive experience in the energy and mining sector in risk and compliance, business integrity, and security and emergency management. Jon previously managed compliance risks for an upstream energy company when it expanded to Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Since joining Control Risks Jon has worked on ESG and sustainability issues for clients, including due diligence and intelligence gathering on specific ESG risks connected with new ventures and investment opportunities, both inbound and outbound of Australia, in the renewable sector and forecasting emerging sustainability trends and developments.

Jon established and managed the Brussels office of a risk consultancy firm between 2004 and 2008, supporting investment banks, law firms, multinational companies, specialising in business intelligence, investigations and compliance. Back in his analogue days, Jon worked in South-East Asia as a journalist and for a non-governmental organisation that assists refugees. He holds an MBA from the University of Cambridge, is a Certified Fraud Examiner and was awarded a humanitarian services medal by the Australian government for his work in East Timor in 1999.
