Jill Riseley AM

Partner, Deloitte Australia

Jill is the lead Partner for climate and sustainability in Deloitte consulting. She is a highly accomplished sustainability Executive and Non-Executive Director with more than 20 years’ experience across public and corporate sectors with some of Australia’s most recognised brands. Considered one of Australia’s pioneering and preeminent sustainability and ESG leaders, Jill has extensive expertise in the provision of advice at Board, CEO and Ministerial level, including highly regulated and crisis environments.

Prior to joining Deloitte Jill was CEO of the Victorian Government agency responsible for waste and recycling across Melbourne and appointed by the Victorian Government to navigate a recycling crisis and oversee broad circular economy reforms to deliver better outcomes for communities and industry. Her experience covers significant commercial and sector initiatives including the largest resource recovery and waste collaborative tender ever undertaken in Victoria (30 metropolitan councils) and the $7 billion tender for a new energy from waste facility in Melbourne’s south east.

Jill is a passionate advocate of responsible business, corporate sustainability, climate change and ESG, and she keenly promotes mechanisms which create measurable organisational value and strengthen intangible assets including reputation, brand, trust, and engagement. Her past experience includes Executive and leadership roles in the Victorian Government and ASX20 Australian corporations.

Jill’s academic qualifications include a Masters in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge and Executive Business Qualifications from UNSW.  She has extensive experience on Boards and Advisory Panels. She is the recipient of numerous awards and was recognized by the Australian Government for her contribution to combating climate change.  Most recently Jill was appointed a Member (AM) of the Order of Australia for significant services to the not-for-profit sector and corporate sustainability.
