Dr. Andy Symington

Andy Symington is a business and human rights specialist focused on social performance in extractive industries and the energy transition. He leads KPMG’s mining sector social impact work and co-leads the global Just Transition proposition and collaboration with UNDP, WWF, and other stakeholders.

He works mainly with mining and energy clients on social sustainability, human rights due diligence, responsible mining, Indigenous rights, and community risks. Andy has extensive field experience and is a respected writer and educator on business and human rights and just transition issues.
