The investment team uses a thematic stock-picking approach that concentrates on identifying out-of-favour stocks with the objective of achieving superior returns for their clients. Platinum Asset Management pay no heed to recognised indices. They aim to protect against loss and will hedge stocks, indices and currencies in our endeavours to do so.
The firm was founded in February 1994 by a group of professionals who had built an enviable reputation. The investment team has grown steadily and Platinum now manages around A$19 billion (as at 31 March 2023). Platinum’s ultimate holding company, Platinum Asset Management Limited (ASX code: PTM), was listed on the ASX in May 2007.
