APA is a leading Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) listed energy infrastructure business. We own and/or manage and operate a diverse, $21 billion portfolio of gas, electricity, solar and wind assets. Consistent with our purpose to strengthen communities through responsible energy, we deliver approximately half of the nation’s gas usage and connect Victoria with South Australia and New South Wales with Queensland through our investments in electricity transmission assets. We are also one of the largest owners and operators of renewable power generation assets in Australia, with wind and solar projects across the country.

APA is committed to creating long term sustainable value in our business as we transition to a lower carbon future. Integral to our operational business, APA’s Pathfinder program is an initiative looking to unlock energy solutions of the future, including ways to use our existing energy infrastructure to support Australia’s energy transition, such as our pilot project to investigate the conversion of a section of gas pipeline in Western Australia to 100 per cent hydrogen.

Our approach to sustainability brings our vision and purpose to life.  We have a three-year Sustainability Roadmap in place to guide our direction and focus until 2024.

Our ambition for net zero operations emissions by 2050, including Scope 1 & 2 emissions, is embedded in APA’s portfolio strategy and capital allocation decision-making, planning and valuation.  To support delivery of our net zero ambition, APA has developed a Climate Change Management Framework and an enterprise-wide Net Zero & Climate Transformation Program to evaluate and plan our pathway towards net zero.

Community and Social Performance is a priority sustainability focus area and is core to our ability to strengthen communities through responsible energy. We are developing a comprehensive Community and Social Performance Strategy and a First Nations Plan that will guide our approach for APA engagement with our First Nations stakeholders, including Indigenous employees, communities and stakeholder groups. It will also provide the foundations for achieving stronger local outcomes and contributing to reconciliation.

We understand that the expectations of our customers and communities are evolving and we are determined to deliver ever-better outcomes.

In 2021 we launched an industry leading Stakeholder Advisory Panel initiative, providing a forum for APA to share what we are doing with stakeholders and the broader community, as well as gain insights from them about their interests, concerns and expectations.

We are thrilled with the response to this initiative, and we look forward to taking the feedback we receive and apply this to further strengthen our communities through responsible energy.
