Valuing Nature and the Natural Capital Protocol

Event Details

Join our upcoming webinar to introduce the new Natural Capital Protocol and explore how companies are using natural capital valuation to develop sustainable business strategies, manage risks and uncover opportunities.

Businesses rely on natural capital (e.g. water, soil, air, minerals, living things) throughout operations and value chains to create value. Traditionally, natural capital has been significantly under-valued, or given no value at all.

As natural resource depletion continues and the global population grows, reliance on natural resources will become increasingly strained. To ensure resilience and long-term viability, businesses should understand their impacts and dependencies on natural capital to help manage risks, identify opportunities for new revenue streams and develop sustainable business strategies.

This webinar will introduce the new Natural Capital Protocol – a standardised framework designed to identify, measure and value impacts and dependencies on natural capital – which was launched last month by the Natural Capital Coalition.

The webinar will also include a company presentation to highlight how business can incorporate natural capital valuation into sustainability strategies.

Speakers:

  • Mark Gough, Executive Director, Natural Capital Coalition
  • James Bentley, Manager of Natural Value, NAB Corporate Responsibility
