Michael is Aurecon’s global lead for Risk and Assurance Strategy. A strategic leader for complex environments, he has over 30 years of experience in risk, ethics, decision-making, governance and resilience. He leads Aurecon’s risk solutions and advisory business, championing the critical role risk plays in achieving strategic objectives, pursuing opportunities and managing risk, in complex environments.

He is passionate about how decision-makers and leadership teams make better decisions amidst complex, uncertain, volatile, and ambiguous environments. His experience spans the Resources, Banking and Finance, Defence, National Security, Executive Government, Energy, Water, Transport and Health industries.

His professional highlights include providing risk strategy briefings to the UN Security Council, assuring the delivery of two Commonwealth Games, leading decision and investment strategy formation for a new sovereign missile and guided weapons manufacturing industry in Australia, advising multiple multi-billion dollar growth projects and portfolios, and building new global approaches for mining and energy assets in response to climate change.
