Maruf Khakimov

Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Officer (Anti-Corruption), UNODC

Mr. Maruf Khakimov is a Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Officer (Anti-Corruption) at UNODC, supporting implementation of the Programme on Safeguarding Sport from Corruption and Economic Crime. Previously, he served as a National Project Officer with the UNODC Regional Office for Central Asia (Tashkent, Uzbekistan), where he provided secretariat support to the Judicial Cooperation Network for Central Asia and Southern Caucasus (CASC Network), facilitating international cooperation on criminal matters. Prior to this, he worked for UNDP Uzbekistan, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ) and delivered training for the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He is fluent in English, Russian, and Uzbek, and holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in law from the Tashkent State Institute of Law (Uzbekistan), as well as an international master’s in the sociology of law from the Oñati International Institute for the Sociology of Law (Spain).
