Dr David Cooke

David is the Executive Director of ESG Advisory and author of Kind Business: Values create Value, which advocates for sustainable and responsible business practices. He is an Adjunct Professor at UTS Business School, a Fellow of the Institute of Managers & Leaders and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

David is the former Managing Director of Konica Minolta. He is the former Chair of UN Global Compact Network Australia, and of the UNSW Australian Human Rights Institute Advisory Committee.

David completed a doctorate in 2008. His dissertation was titled “The Philanthropic Contract: Building Social Capital though Corporate Social Investment” which dealt with the role of profit–making corporations contributing to society through partnerships with civil society. In 2022 he was awarded a second doctorate, honoris causa, by Edith Cowan University in Perth for his contribution to the promotion of responsible business with particular reference to his work in the field of anti-slavery and ethical sourcing.
