Detective A/Sergeant Mathew Smith

Detective Smith and has served in the AFP and undertaken investigations for over 33 years. He has investigated matters relating to drug importation, money laundering, fraud, abuse of public office and more recently corruption. Mathew is a member of the AFP’s Foreign Bribery “Panel of Practitioners and Experts” and has represented the AFP in OECD delegations evaluating anti-corruption frameworks of nations seeking to accede to the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention. He currently leads the AFP’s Northern Command Fraud Squad.
