Amelia Bruce
Amelia is the Executive Manager Human Rights at Westpac, where she leads the design and implementation of the Group’s human rights policy commitments, forward-looking human rights strategy and work program.
Having spent the last 14 years advising businesses on human rights and social performance, across Australia, the Asia Pacific and North America, she has a keen understanding of how to interrogate the impact a business has on people, and how to leverage organisational systems to both manage risk and create positive outcomes.
In her current role she is focused on providing strategic advice and building internal knowledge and capability to uplift the Group’s approach to preventing and addressing human rights risks and impacts. She has delivered key leadership initiatives including projects to identify the Group’s salient and emerging human rights issues; to uplift the Group’s approach to human rights due diligence, grievance mechanisms and remedy; to develop an approach to human rights impact measurement and evaluation, and to enhance transparency in the Group’s human rights disclosures.
