Ruth Madden

Ruth Madden is the ESG Manager at the Port of Newcastle, where she is leads the implementation of the ESG strategy and drives sustainability initiatives including decarbonisation, circular economy and diversity, equity, and inclusion. With a background in environmental consulting and a Master’s in Environmental Management and Sustainability, Ruth is dedicated to advancing climate change resilience and nature positivity at the port. She chairs both the diversity, equity, and inclusion steering group and the reconciliation action plan working group, focusing on enhancing workplace diversity and fostering partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Her work emphasises creating sustainable practices while advancing equity for all employees.
