Leah Ambler

APS Integrity Taskforce, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet

Leah Ambler joined the Australian Commission for Law Enforcement Integrity (ACLEI) as Director, Corruption Prevention & Engagement in May 2021. She manages teams to develop and deliver integrity advice, tools and guidance to address corruption risks across Commonwealth government agencies along with broader media and communications.

Prior to joining ACLEI, Ambler was a legal specialist in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s (OECD) Anti-Corruption Division, the Secretariat to the OECD Working Group on Bribery. Ambler managed outreach programs in Latin America and Asia Pacific and undertook evaluations of countries’ implementation of the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention. She has advised national governments on legal and institutional reforms to combat corruption, enhance the independence of law enforcement agencies and protect whistleblowers.

Ambler has served as Chair of the International Bar Association’s Anti-Corruption Committee, has a Bachelor of Laws and Asian Studies from the ANU and was admitted as solicitor and barrister to the ACT Supreme Court and the High Court of Australia.
