Frances Finney

Assistant Secretary, Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Branch, Attorney General’s Department

Frances Finney PSM, is the Assistant Secretary of the Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Branch in the Attorney-General’s Department (AGD). Her Branch leads Australia’s whole-of-government domestic policy response to modern slavery, which includes current reforms for establishing an Anti-Slavery Commissioner, administering and strengthening Australia’s Modern Slavery Act 2018, leading the implementation of the National Action Plan to Combat Modern Slavery 2020-25, and co-chairing with Indonesia the Bali Process Working Group on Trafficking in Persons.

Prior to this, Frances has held a number of senior public sector management roles across a range of policy, program and operational areas, with a national and international focus.
