David Sandrussi
With over 20 years of global experience, David specialises in climate and decarbonisation strategy, having worked for multinationals in Australia, the United States, Germany and Canada. His expertise includes strategic and technical guidance in decarbonisation, climate risk and transition plan advisory, carbon accounting, science-based target setting, and sustainability governance and reporting. David is an Associate Director within KPMG’s Climate Change & Sustainability team, and has worked with domestic and global organisations including Brisbane Airport Corporation, City of Perth, University of Melbourne, Coles Supermarkets, Endeavour Group, 7-Eleven, and The Bega Group.
David was previously employed by zooplus AG, Europe’s largest online retailer in the €38 billion pet product industry. During his tenure with the firm based in Munich, he led a 22-person project team with a mandate to develop and implement the strategic framework to significantly reduce the organisation’s carbon footprint. He has also published thought leadership on decarbonisation and sustainability strategy.
David’s experience is supported by his education in decarbonisation and business management, having graduated with a Masters of Science in Carbon Management from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, and a Bachelor of Business from the Australian Catholic University. He has also completed post-graduate studies in corporate sustainability at Harvard Business School.
