Event Details

Join Corinne Schoch, Senior Advisor of the Global Compact Network Australia (GCNA), and Andrew Petersen, CEO of the Business Council for Sustainable Development Australia (BCSDA), as they discuss their insights from the upcoming UN Global Summits on Climate Change and the Sustainable Development Goals, to be facilitated by Kylie Porter, Executive Director of the GCNA.

Three key international events – the Climate Summit (23 September), the first UN Summit dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals (24-25 September) since the adoption of the 2030 Agenda in September 2015, and a High-level Dialogue on Financing for Development (26 September) – are being held during the upcoming United Nations 74th Session of the General Assembly.

This international gathering is being convened to provide an opportunity to reinvigorate international commitment to the Paris Agreement and SDGs and offer space for various actors, including business, to highlight their contribution to SDG implementation. Corinne and Andrew will both be attending these international events, to bring the voice of Australian business into the international sphere and collaborate to advance sustainable development.

You will hear about the:

• Key outcomes from each of the Summits;

• Discussion of innovative solutions and partnerships to accelerate sustainable development convened during UN Global Compact Leaders Week; and

• Initiatives and commitments announced by organisations including the UN Global Compact, Climate Group, the WBCSD, and We Mean Business Coalition.
