The UN Global Compact and EY have collaborated on a global research publication exploring how companies are taking steps to develop and enhance sustainable, resilient and responsible supply chains. Sixty-one companies from across the world were interviewed for the report, including some of Australia’s biggest companies.

The report explores challenges, current status and emerging best practices identified through these interviews. This includes shifts toward embedding sustainability into risk and resiliency considerations, use of IT platforms and big data, pursuing end-to-end traceability, and navigating the plethora of global and industry standards. The report will also provide case studies and practical insights on navigating these and other challenges.

The report will be launched in New York in late June at the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit. We would be pleased if you could join us for the report launch in Australia on 5 July at EY’s offices  in Sydney and via videoconference to Melbourne.

The event will provide a chance to hear from a panel discussing the practical challenges and opportunities of tackling supply chain sustainability and how to best support Australian businesses going down this path.

Speakers will include:

  •          Jaana Quaintance-James, Ethical Sourcing Manager, David Jones
  •          Nik Comito, Associate Director – Environmental Sustainability, Optus
  •          Adam Carrel, Partner, EY
  •          Alice Cope, Executive Manager, Global Compact Network Australia

A light breakfast will be served at the event.
