Australian Launch Workshops with GRI & GCNA: Guidance on Business Reporting on the SDGs

14 Dec
2017

9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Event Details

Join GRI and the Global Compact Network Australia for a half-day workshop to introduce new global guidance on business reporting on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The workshop will also explore another topical sustainability issue for Australian businesses – modern slavery reporting.

In the workshop, we will introduce the new publication “Business Reporting on the SDGs: An Analysis of the Goals and Targets”, which has been developed by GRI and the UN Global Compact. The publication represents the first step towards comparable and effective corporate reporting on the SDGs.

We will also discuss the role of sustainability reporting in advancing the SDGs and the challenges associated with monitoring and reporting a company’s contribution to the Goals.

Finally, the workshop will explore modern slavery reporting, including global developments and current reporting practices, and discuss challenges and opportunities particularly in light of the Australian Government’s proposed reporting requirements.

The workshop will be led by Juliette Gaussem, Senior Manager Guidance & Practice, GRI and Alice Cope, Executive Director, Global Compact Network Australia.

The workshops are by invitation, with preference given to GCNA and GRI GOLD Community members. Please contact us if you are interested in registering (secretariat@unglobalcompact.org.au).
