The Forward Faster Initiative
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are at the heart of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015.
The 17 SDGs are an urgent call to action to end poverty, improve health and education, protect the planet, reduce inequality and ensure prosperity for all by 2030. However, progress towards the SDGs is not on track. Right now, only 15% of the SDGs are on track for 2030. 26 Australian companies have already signed up, will you join them?
5 areas of action
Ambitious corporate action starts here. These 5 areas of action have been selected because they have the power to accelerate progress across all 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and are where the private sector can collectively make the biggest, fastest impact by 2030.
- Take climate action: Protect your business from long-term volatility by working towards net zero and a just transition.
- Build water resilience: Increase efficiency and reduce supply chain disruption while helping vulnerable communities in water-challenged regions
- Finance and invest for the future: Shifting corporate capital towards the SDGs is critical to closing existing financing gaps.
- Pay a living wage: Reduce inequalities and build more resilient supply chains by ensuring a living wage across your workforce.
- Advance gender equality: Increase profitability and performance by ensuring inclusive workplaces and parity in your workforce.
Each area has specific actions to help you build a more resilient company, while also building a resilient society and planet.
Why join Forward Faster?
We need leaders who shape the future, not merely respond to it. We need bold visionaries, relentless doers, and fearless builders – individuals who will drive transformative change and move us beyond ambition into action.
Meeting the monumental challenge of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 demands nothing less. The future beckons – will you answer its call?
