Gold Road Resources Limited (Gold Road) is a mid-tier Australian gold producer and explorer with a Tier 1 mine and exploration projects in Western Australia’s north-eastern Goldfields.
Following the acquisition of DGO Gold Ltd and its diverse exploration portfolio in mid-2022, Gold Road now holds a total of ~21,500 square kilometres of exploration tenure across Western Australia, South Australia, and Queensland.
Gold Road was established in 2005 and listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in 2006. From start-up, Gold Road’s focus was on greenfields exploration until the discovery of the Gruyere gold deposit in 2013.
Gold Road discovered the world-class Gruyere deposit as part of its pioneering exploration across the Yamarna belt and entered into the Gruyere Gold Project Joint Venture with Gold Fields in 2016.
The world-class Gruyere mine was developed as a 50/50 joint venture between Gold Road and Gruyere Mining Company Pty Ltd, a member of the Gold Fields Ltd group (JSE:GFI) and the manager of the operation. Gruyere is one of Australia’s largest and lowest-cost gold mining operations with all ore sourced from a single open pit mine.
Gruyere produced first gold in June 2019, is forecast to produce on average 350,000 ounces (100% basis) annually, and has a current mine life to 2032.
Gold Road’s exploration strategy is to deliver new value-adding, economic gold deposits that can be developed as standalone mining operations, creating shareholder value through organic growth.
