Event Details

The Global Compact Network Australia and Castan Centre for Human Rights Law invite you to the launch of Human Rights Translated 2.0: A Business Reference Guide.

Produced by the Castan Centre in collaboration with the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the UN Global Compact, this publication explains human rights in a way that makes sense to business. The publication uses case studies to illustrate how human rights are relevant in a corporate context and how human rights issues can be managed.

The first edition, released in 2008, was praised around the world for the simple way that it presented human rights in a business-relevant manner, providing a key tool for businesses seeking greater knowledge of their responsibilities.

The event will launch the publication and provide an opportunity to explore the evolving business and human rights space with an expert multi-stakeholder panel.

Speakers

  • Professor Sarah Joseph, Director, Castan Centre for Human Rights Law, Monash University
  • Vanessa Zimmerman, Director and Chair, Human Rights Leadership Group, Global Compact Network Australia
  • Rachel Ball, Head of Public Policy and Advocacy, Oxfam Australia
