MGGLB-Australia aims to drive local solutions to global challenges. Showcasing how responsible business practices can create new market opportunities and accelerate action to support the delivery of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this event will feature two days of panel discussions, breakout sessions and networking opportunities with local and global leaders from business, government, civil society and academia.

Attending in person

MGGLB-Australia will take place at the State Library Victoria. By joining us in person you will get access to:

  • All plenary sessions.
  • Your preferred breakout session.
  • Audience Q&A with speakers via the conference app ‘Chime Live’ by Encore.
  • Extensive networking opportunities at the event lunches and during morning/afternoon tea breaks.
  • The networking cocktail evening on 11 May(sponsored by L’Oréal Australia).

MGGLB-Australia will implement a COVID-Safe plan that aligns with public health advice at the time of the event.

In the event that delegates are not able to travel to Victoria due to state or Federal government restrictions, face-to-face ticket types will be converted to virtual tickets and the UNGCNA will provide a refund for the difference in the ticket price.

In the event that Victorian Government restrictions do not allow face-to-face events to take place due to COVID-19, MGGLB-Australia will be held entirely in a virtual format. All delegates who originally purchased face-to-face tickets will be provided with a refund for the difference in the ticket price.

Attending virtually

Participants can choose to attend MGGLB-Australia in a virtual capacity. By joining us virtually you will get access to:

  • Discounted ticket prices.
  • All plenary sessions.
  • Access to the breakout session ‘A Planet Under Pressure: Reimagining Responsible Consumption’.
  • Audience Q&A with speakers via the conference app ‘Chime Live’ by Encore.
  • Networking opportunities with other virtual participants.

MGGLB-Australia will be brought to virtual participants through the award-winning interactive hybrid event platform ‘Chime Live’ by Encore.

Participants will need to ensure that organisation firewalls do not prevent them from accessing Chime Live. Onsite and virtual tech support will be available to any participant experiencing issues with the event platform.

COVID-19 Safe Plan

The UN Global Compact Network Australia takes the health and safety of speakers, participants, and attendees of MGGLB-Australia seriously. The following mechanisms will be implemented to ensure a safe event for all:

  • Venue capacity will align with government standards.
  • Attendees who are unwell or showing symptoms of COVID-19 are strongly encouraged to stay home and contact us for virtual login information.
  • Speakers, attendees and staff members will be registered for contact-tracing purposes. Un-registered attendees will not be permitted to enter the venue.
  • Contact surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected at regular intervals.
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided in accordance with government guidelines.
  • Venue staff will be trained in accordance with state and federal Food and Safety Guidelines, and COVID-19 Safety Guidelines.

Defining Responsible Leadership in the Decade to Deliver
The path to 2030 and delivering the SDGs will require ambitious and authentic leadership. Businesses will need to have the courage to stand up and stand out, even if it means standing alone. Doing so can create greater trust in key stakeholders, drive sustainable business returns and build resilient leadership teams.

This session will include a keynote speech followed by a facilitated discussion on the values required of business leaders in the Decade to Deliver.
